The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced an active recall of Orgain Chocolate-Flavored 30G Protein Organic Plant Based Powder. The recall is due to an undeclared allergen that could pose a serious health risk.
Products Affected
The recall applies to 2.01-pound plastic tubs with lot code 4172-02-P and an expiration date of June 20, 2026. These tubs were sold in retail stores and online across the United States.
Health Risks
This protein powder may contain peanut residue, which was reported by a customer who experienced an allergic reaction. Individuals with peanut allergies risk severe reactions, including anaphylaxis. Symptoms include hives, swelling, trouble breathing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, throat tightness, and even cardiac arrest. If any of these symptoms occur after consuming the recalled protein powder, call 911 immediately.
