ASTANA – A new artificial intelligence-powered therapist is now being tested in 30 clinics across Kazakhstan. The pilot project was announced by Digital Development Minister Bagdat Mussin at the Digital Bridge 2025 international forum on Friday.
Mussin stated that AI startups are becoming a vital force in modernizing the nation’s healthcare system. The goal is for the AI therapist service to eventually be available in all medical organizations.
“It is important not just to provide internet access, but to fill it with services that truly help people,” Mussin emphasized.
The minister also highlighted other digital health initiatives currently in trial phases. These include video tokens for paramedics, which feature integrated video analytics. New digital services for rural medical units are also being rolled out.
He explained that partnerships between agile startups and the government are key to this progress. Startups provide creativity and technological expertise, while state structures can scale successful projects nationwide.
“Startups bring the flexibility and innovation that large bureaucratic systems cannot create on their own,” Mussin added.
The Digital Bridge 2025 forum has served as a platform for discussing Kazakhstan’s technological future. Earlier discussions featured Timur Turlov, who highlighted the growing role of digital ecosystems and predictive AI in shaping the economy.
