LINCOLN, Neb. – A new treatment for depression and other mental health conditions is now available at a Lincoln clinic. YOUniq Health, a local mental health provider, announced the launch of EXOMIND, an FDA-cleared therapy that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate the brain.
The clinic is introducing the treatment during National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month in October. To showcase the technology, YOUniq Health will host a complimentary launch event on October 24.
“We are pleased to offer EXOMIND to our community,” said Amarachi Ogbonnaya-Akpa, the Clinical Director of YOUniq Health. “If our minds are not at peace, then our lives will not be either. This leading-edge treatment leaves patients feeling better and more equipped to face the day.”
The EXOMIND treatment involves placing an applicator on a patient’s head. It then delivers magnetic pulses to specific areas of the brain. These pulses are designed to stimulate or suppress neural activity. The goal is to improve emotional regulation, cognitive function, and self-control.
A typical treatment plan is brief. Patients usually undergo a 30-minute session twice a week for three weeks to see maximum results.
While primarily aimed at treating depression, the company states the therapy has broader benefits. Research indicates it can help improve overall mental well-being. Some patients report sleeping better, experiencing reduced food cravings, and even losing weight.
YOUniq Health treats a wide range of conditions. These include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and PTSD. The clinic combines medication management with brief therapy.
The launch party for EXOMIND will be held on Friday, October 24, from noon to 5 p.m. at the clinic’s location at 2120 S. 56th St., Suite 104, in Lincoln. The event will feature free demonstrations and special pricing. Light refreshments will be served.
