Despite its critical role in overall well-being, men’s pelvic health remains a topic rarely discussed—often shrouded by stigma and silence. Dr. Chloe Sandberg, a physical therapist at CC’s Physical Therapy, emphasized the importance of awareness during a recent studio interview, highlighting why men should be more proactive about this often-overlooked aspect of health.
“Many men tend to be stoic about their health, to the point where even their spouses may be unaware of symptoms they are experiencing,” said Dr. Sandberg. “The truth is, these symptoms are common, treatable, and deserve attention.”
Research spanning the last 12 to 15 years reveals that approximately 35% of adult men in the United States report experiencing at least one pelvic health symptom. More strikingly, about 34% of these men endure two or more symptoms concurrently, underscoring the complexity of pelvic health challenges.
“These symptoms can manifest in various ways, often involving issues related to the bladder, prostate, digestion, chronic pain, and sexual dysfunction,” Dr. Sandberg explained. “If men experience any of these signs, seeking professional evaluation is crucial.”
CC’s Physical Therapy operates two locations—in Bismarck and Hazen—offering specialized care for men’s pelvic health.
